Belarus (2024)

Sasha

Sasha was an ordinary boy from a small town who arrived at summer Bible camp lead by EGM-Belarus convinced he was an atheist and determined not to participate. Quiet, withdrawn, and shaped by years of moving between foster homes without feeling loved, he kept his distance at first, refusing Bible lessons and simply watching from the sidelines. But in the safety of a camp environment marked by kindness, patience, and genuine care, Sasha slowly began to open up. As he listened, asked questions, joined activities, and studied the life of Joseph, he started to see parallels with his own story and discovered that he was not alone, that God saw him and cared for him. Surrounded by friends, prayer, and genuine love, Sasha’s heart began to change. By the final lesson, the boy who once said “don’t bother me” shared with joy that he now believed in God.
