I have been teaching this class of nine- and ten-year-olds for a year and a half, and when I first began, many of the children came unwillingly—brought by their parents, showing uninterest in Bible stories, disruptive at times, and reluctant to participate. After a conversation with EGM Sunday school teachers and praying with them, I began focusing less on control and more on connection. We created space for children to share about their week, pray for one another, and feel genuinely seen and supported. Slowly, the atmosphere changed. As relationships deepened and kindness became consistent, the children grew more open, attentive, and eager to engage with Scripture and with each other. Today, our class is marked by friendship, trust, and acceptance, and I see how God is using loving relationships to soften hearts and plant seeds of faith that I pray will bear lasting fruit.
